The Great Oreo Taste Test

The Great Oreo Taste Test

Mike and I live in walking distance of a Target (A dangerous prospect, but I’m usually well behaved) and so usually about 3 times a week, we go for an evening walk and end up walking around the store. When we were in there the other day, we happened to wander around the cookie aisle and saw a bunch of new Oreos. Well, the inner child in us just couldn’t resist and so we picked out a few to try. Also, milk, because cookies and water are just not as delicious.

The following are my thoughts on each cookie as I ate them (I only got a couple crumbs on the keyboard):

Red Velvet - A definitively different chocolate flavor from the regular chocolate cookie. Cream cheese icing is great!!

Carrot Cake - I get more cinnamon from the cookie than anything else. The cream cheese icing in this cookie has a slight orange color and some slight cinnamon flavor to it as opposed to the regular cream cheese taste from the red velvet.

Dark Chocolate - So much chocolate. The chocolate in the cookie is lighter in color than the regular oreo cookie. It reminds me of the chocolate flavored Goldfish crackers. It is more of a real chocolate flavor than the regular cookies. The inside icing reminds me of a brownie batter, very rich. Even with all this, the cookie doesn’t taste overly sweet to me.

The Most Stuf - The icing just squishes all over! I am a big fan of the double stuffed Oreos, but I feel like when you bite into these ones, half the icing comes out the sides and once you eat that, you are left with just your regular sized Oreo. Yes, I get that the squishing is probably the point, just seems a little overkill for me . While saying that though, they are still the classic Oreo for the most part and super delicious.

I would eat all of these again, but in order from least favorite to most favorite, I’d have to go with Carrot Cake, Red Velvet, Most Stuf and Dark Chocolate.

Oh, and in case you were curious, I usually prefer to keep my Oreo together when I eat it, however if I have two of the same Oreo, I will eat one together and take one apart so I can have the best of both worlds.
