A Historically Magical Evening
In case you haven’t guessed, we really like St. Augustine in this house. Between the history, quirky museums, unique dining and shopping, you never run out of things to do! (True Story: On our last trip, someone walked past us saying “There has to be more to do here than just walking down the street”….Umm, have you even opened your eyes lady?!)
As if St. Augustine couldn’t get any better, they take it up a notch during the holiday season with Night of Lights! For the last 25 years, the historic district puts up more than 3 million lights and just makes the city sparkle. The local trolley tours have special evening rides that take you around the streets to see all the lights with music (for a fee) or you can just stroll and take in the sights.
These lights come on every year around Thanksgiving and stay up until the end of January! The last day to see them this year is February 3rd. If you have never seen them, I highly recommend it!! This was Mike’s and my third year seeing them and, while this year was extra special, it is something we really enjoy doing and will be back to do again!
