British Themed Date Night
So I was looking through some of my facebook groups, seeing what my fellow Hufflepuffs were up to and stumbled upon this fantastic menu. The comments mentioned that it was the custom menu at a theater for an upcoming showing of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald! I love themed things and I wanted to know where I could go for this magical menu! Looking up the theater, I found it was called Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas and had locations throughout the country. Sadly, the closest to me is in Raleigh, around 2 hours away and they do not seem to be serving this menu. I shared my disappointment with Mike, who was equally interested in the theming and he, being the wonderful man that he is, suggested we create our own British night.
We had planned on watching the first Fantastic Beasts this past weekend at some point, as well as V for Vendetta (as we do around every 5th of November) and realizing they were both British films, thought it would be perfect! Plus, I had already planned on making cottage pie for dinner on Friday, so we had all the ingredients for one of the meals to start!
Besides the cottage pie, which was quite delicious, Mike went to our local World Market and got a few British treats, including Jammie Dodgers, Biscoff cookies, Twinnings Winter Tea and a few UK produced beers. I also tried my hand at a a homemade ButterBeer, but the recipe I tried was just too sweet for us.
We enjoyed an evening in with our movies and British treats and will definitely try it again. We like to have themed evenings in. What else would you have had for a British Night In? Any other suggestions for themed date nights?
